THE
CINDERELLA STORY
I
first want to start my story by telling everyone how I even ended
up here...Promise this is the short version!! LOL....I started lifting
in high school, was unusually strong for a girl...Kept lifting all
throughout the Marines because I loved it....I could not wait to
go to the gym each day and train....I was told many times that I
have the physique to compete but left it at that...No interest really.....Until
one day, one person, at one moment changed that....They said..."you
have the physique but you could NEVER make it through the diet".....That
was all it took ladies and gentlemen...One comment, one dare, one
challenge...and here I am today :) The competition bug stuck....
2005
year I got dared to do figure and become more marketable..."Hmmm...a
dare...ok, watch this"...I thought to myself...I transformed,
barely lifted weights, hours of cardio on minimal food...Won my
class at the Cal state, and placed top 10 Nationally....Hmmm....one
thing wrong...I started to hate competing because all of a sudden
it wasn't the love of the gym....I lost what meant the most...the
day in day out training i loved....
2006- Still struggling
with missing heavy weight training, I decided to listen to my heart.
In March of 2006, I went back to lifting heavy and consistent...My
body responded almost immediately. Within a month or two i was about
80% back to where I had been. I was aiming to do the USA's in July
but realized that I needed a little more time. So, I put all my
faith and goals into "1" show
(Nationals). I realized that if I was even going to place top
5, I really needed to nail it. To top it off, I had never competed
in the Nationals or any east coast show for that matter. So,
going in almost blind. Unfortunately, my family, trainer and best
friends couldn't make it to watch me.
2006 Nationals- It was so fun going to Miami and surprisingly I was
very calm. The realization hit that I had given it everything and
it was now up to the judges. It all paid off as I became the newest
IFBB Pro winning the middleweight class!!
So, ladies and gentlemen. That is my Cinderella story....Searching
for my lost glass slipper.....I tried on the figure one and although
it fit......it was a bit too SMALL.....So, finally, I have found
the perfect match, the perfect fit....not too BIG and not too SMALL.....:))
Somewhere right in between works perfectly for me :) Without all
of you, it would have been a lonely road!! Thanks so much.
Love
always,
